Lauren B. Fechter is a partner in Bocarsly Emden. Ms. Fechter represents a wide range of developers and tax credit equity investors in connection with the acquisition, financing and syndication of real estate projects utilizing Federal and State Low Income Housing Tax Credits, Historic Tax Credits and New Market Tax Credits. Ms. Fechter has participated in numerous transactions which have layered Federal Tax Credits with other financing tools such as Community Development Block Grants, HOME Investment Partnership Act funds and HUD program funds. Ms. Fechter also has extensive experience with the issuance and use of Tax Exempt Private Activity and 501(C)(3) Bonds.
In addition to her tax credit related work, Ms. Fechter routinely represents developers in connection with the acquisitions, development, leasing and disposition of general real estate assets with a specific emphasis on collaborative real estate developments involving private developers and public entities. Ms. Fechter has negotiated ground leases, disposition and development agreements and owner participation agreements with a wide variety of state and local agencies including local redevelopment authorities.
Ms. Fechter received her Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude, from Tufts University in 1997 and her Juris Doctor, with honors, from The George Washington University Law School in 2000. Ms. Fechter is admitted to the California, New York and Connecticut bars.
